Jie Bin Chen M.S, LAC

Jie Bin (Jay-Bin) is a licensed associate counselor working towards his Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certification. He has over a decade of experience working in mental health, social services, education and various sectors of the healthcare system. His approach to therapy is eclectic, person-centered and intentional to the needs of the client; he believes everyone deserves culturally appropriate and trauma-informed support.
Jie Bin is a firm believer that stress may be a necessary part of life but it doesn’t need to cause us distress. Throughout his career and own life experiences, Jie Bin recognizes and understands the importance of building trust and safety in the therapeutic space, and how it empowers and allows clients to gain a clarity that fosters healing and positive change. Jie Bin sees wellness as the integration of mental and physical health and is mindful of both in his approach. He has years of experience working and supporting folks with complex trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, substance use and medical disorders.
Jie Bin has worked as an adjunct professor for the Community & Counseling Program at Thomas Jefferson University. He is also a wellness culinary consultant, running his own program since 2021 focusing on the power of food and community to improve mental health and wellness. Jie Bin received his B.A. in Neuropsychology from Rutgers University, New Brunswick, and received his M.S. from the Community & Trauma Counseling Program at Thomas Jefferson University in East Falls. He is a Licensed Associate Counselor (# 37AC0086870) in New Jersey.
