Kayla Callaway Ed.S, MA LAC
Kayla has been working as a School Counselor for the past 10 years. Prior to working in the school system Kayla worked at local outpatient facilities helping children, adolescents, and adults suffering from various mental health concerns..
Kayla believes that in order for a working relationship to occur, you have to be willing to accept that every child and their family is coming from a different place which can include trauma and prior therapeutic experiences, which could impact their feelings towards you and the treatment that you provide. Kayla strongly believes in developing and fostering positive, safe, and honest relationships with the individuals she works with; Kayla believes that the core of any client’s therapeutic journey will greatly depend on the relationship they feel they’ve developed with their therapist.
Kayla is trained in Nurtured Heart Approach (NHA) and has experience working with children and adolescents who suffer from school refusal, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and emotional dysregulation. A lot of the therapeutic style that Kayla uses is based within solution-focused and goal orientation, as well as person-centered. License number: 37AC00647700 NPI: 1578713574
